The Testimony of Raymond Wilson
His world was shattered in an instant. His faith was not.
At twenty-five years old, Raymond Wilson believed he was dying.
Weak from a mysterious illness that medicine could not cure, he went to the home of his parents' pastor in Manchester, Jamaica, desperate for help. As Pastor Kenneth Watson prayed, Raymond says two things happened at once: his body was instantly healed, and he was filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues.
It was the beginning of a faith he could not yet know would one day be tested beyond anything he could imagine.
Raymond would leave Jamaica for America, build a career, marry the woman he loved, raise a son, serve God faithfully, and eventually journey to Israel, where the Scriptures he had treasured for decades seemed to rise from the page around him.
But his greatest test would come inside his own home. After his son Mark developed severe mental illness, Raymond watched helplessly as the man he loved became increasingly lost inside a mind Raymond could not reach. Then came the unthinkable: Mark took the life of his own mother—Raymond's beloved wife, Phyllis.
What followed was not effortless faith. It was anguish. Anger. Questions hurled at God in the dark. And through it all, one passage of Scripture became more than words: He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
The Testimony of Raymond Wilson is the true story of a man who experienced miraculous healing—and later discovered that some miracles do not remove suffering. Sometimes the miracle is that, after everything has been taken from you, you are still standing. Still forgiving. Still worshiping. Still believing.
